DEFRAGING, WHAT IT IS AND ITS USES

When you save a file on a disk, it is saved one piece after another, but, when you delete that file a blank space is created on the disk so the following data will be saved in the blank spaces. When the system needs to search for a file it will look in all the locations and will take longer so the computer will work slower.

As deleting data is something you always do, from time to time it is a good idea to use a tool of defragmentation, a software that reorganizes the files so that the pieces are stored continously and more compact. It is recommended to this once a year.
Some useful tips if you want to do it is to close all the applications before in order to calculate how to move the files to take into account if the data is changed.
Another recommendation is that if it has a windows system, you should reboot in the safe mode,so a minimal configuration is loaded. To do this you have to press the F8 button before the starting windows´ message.
